How to Install Our Kanakelon BraidBlends: Step-by-Step Guide

Installing your LopeLocks Kanakelon BraidBlends braiding Hair is an easy and enjoyable process that will leave you with flawless, long-lasting braids. Follow these steps to achieve the best results:

Step 1: Gather Your Tools

-LopeLocks Braid Blends Braiding Hair

-Rat-tail comb

-Large detangling brush/comb

-Braiding wax/gel (optional)

-Curling rods (if curly/wavy ends are desired)

Step 2: Prep Your Hair

Start with clean, dry, and fully detangled hair. Apply a moisturiser or leave-in conditioner to keep your hair hydrated throughout the braiding process.

🔔 Important: Avoid oiling your scalp before braiding. Oils can interfere with the hold of braiding gel. Instead, apply any scalp oils or treatments after your braids are complete for the best results.

Step 3: Section Your Hair

Use a rat-tail comb to create clean, neat sections. The size of each section will depend on the braid thickness you prefer. For a fuller look, opt for smaller sections; for a classic style, go for medium sections. Clip away any hair you’re not working with to keep your process organized.

For added grip and neatness, apply a small amount of braiding gel or wax around your roots and edges.

Step 4: Braid and Feed In

Take a section of your hair and divide it into three equal parts to start the braid.

For smooth and natural-looking feed-in braids, gradually feed in the BraidBlends extensions as you braid.

Alternatively, for knotted braids from the root, attach the BraidBlends extensions at the start of the braid.

Continue braiding until you reach the end of the braiding hair or your desired length to achieve curled or waved ends.

Step 5: Secure the Ends

Sealing your braids is crucial to eliminate stiffness and achieve that natural braid movement.

  • For Standard Braids: Braid down to the end of the hair, then dip the ends in hot water to seal. To ensure straight and uniform ends (as opposed to bent ends), make sure the hair is held straight before dipping it in the hot water. Pour the hot water over the ends while holding the hair straight to avoid setting them at an odd angle.
  • For curly/wavy ends: After braiding, leave the loose hair at the ends out and tie a knot using 2-3 strands of the Braid Blends hair. Then, wrap the loose hair around curling rods, and dip the ends of the hair into boiling hot water. This will create the desired curls or waves at the end of the braids.

Step 6: Define and Finish

Use scissors to trim away any loose or stray ends for a clean, polished finish.

Apply braid mousse to tame any flyaways and give your braids a super neat, defined look. This will help keep the style in place and ensure that everything looks flawless.

Step 7: Style & Maintain

Braid Blends are incredibly versatile—get creative with your styling!

Always wear a satin scarf or bonnet while sleeping to protect your braids from friction, which can lead to messiness and frizz. This will help maintain the neatness and longevity of your style.
